Getting out of enough of his clothes to get into the more heavily protective and armored gear took Marcus some time, especially since he wasn't familiar with this gear and it took him some time to get things comfortably situated on his body.
While his new friend kept searching, apparently, and was starting to accumulate several piles of useful things.
By the time Marcus was finished getting changed and stretching out to make sure he could comfortably move in his new and expensive looking protective gear, all the lockers had been pulled open and searched. Leaving Marcus with the task of finding pockets and pouches to store everything. Ammo here, medical supplies there. A few snacks in a pocket.
