Marcus stopped to grab the first aid kit just in case it became necessary later, and tucked it into an empty hip pouch. Just because he didn't need it now didn't mean he wouldn't need it later.
A nod. So far that was the only indication of communication he'd received, but that was fine. Fine in comparison to the alternative was having not been rescued and being eaten alive by a zombie. By normal standards none of this was fine at all.
He was just glad he'd told Stefan to keep everyone away. And also glad that his new large friend was moving slowly enough for him to keep up.
