Luca winced as he crashed to the floor, pain shooting through him, burying into his head. It took him a moment to regain his focus, but as soon as he did, he started squirming. Uselessly. He kicked his legs, but it wasn't doing anything.

"I'll lose my mind before I let him have it!" he yelled. He felt the collar coming loose, and he tried to reattach it, because the idea of a new one scared him even more. "The invention is mine! It dies with me!"
